No load shedding is being observed for the prime users of the textile industry, said industry sources. According to the industry sources, power supply to the textile industry has improved substantially over the last few days, as power supply remains intact during Sehr or Iftar.
It may be noted that the textile industry was hit hard due to power shortfall with the start of holy month of Ramazan. The Pepco had announced no load shedding during Sehr and Iftar but failed to control the situation with high demand. No power was available for textile units even during the period other than Sehr and Iftar. Accordingly, the Pepco authorities had asked for cooperation from the textile industry with a promise that supply would be resumed soon situation improves.
And even in some cases, the Pepco had made clear that no guarantee on supply side can be extended until Eid. However, start of fresh spell of rains provided the required cushion to the Pepco and supply to the prime users was ensured accordingly.
