The Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General, Liaquat Baloch, has strongly condemned the on-going carnage in Karachi and demanded immediate resignation of the Federal Interior Minister and the Sindh Home Minister. He said that the port city was in the control of brutes. He said more than forty people had been gunned down in Karachi within twenty four hours by Thursday noon.
The Sindh Home Minister had termed it the failure of the police. Baloch said that during the last one and a half months, hundreds of families in Karachi had lost their dear ones. He said, the killers were widely known and enjoyed political influence, because of which the police did not touch them.
Liaquat Baloch said the government had completely failed to protect the lives of the citizens and therefore, it had no right to cling to power. He said there was no reason for the Federal Interior Minister and the Sindh Home Minister to cling to their offices, while Karachi was bleeding. He expressed full sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for those killed and for the quick recovery of the injured.
