Managing Director of the Water and Sewerage Board Misbahuddin Farid asked Management of SITE Ltd to cancel all permissions issued to the industrial units for creating water connections from trunk mains of Water Board. He said such permissions issued by SITE are illegal and against the decisions taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Administrator CDGK which was attended by the all town administrators and officials of the water board.
The meeting had decided to take steps to save Water Board as well as SITE from financial losses causing due to it. The meeting also had decided that such all permissions would be cancelled which were issued to the industries to create connections from the Trunk Mains of the Water Board. He said illegal Hydrants and Wells created in the city is stealing water to sell it to the public on commercial basis at high rates.
MD Water Board said that in the light of the decision of the meeting SITE Town Administration cancelled such permission issued to create Hydrants and Wells from Trunk Mains but the SITE Ltd still has not taken any step with regard to it. He said that due to this situation water supply system is greatly affected and Water Board is facing huge losses. The press release said "Stealing of water by the industries also affect the supply of water to the citizens of the city specially areas including PAF, Haroon Bahria, Hawksbay, KANNUP, Tickery village, Grax Village Baba Bhit, Shams Peer Island, Mair Pur and other adjacent areas. These illegal connections have also caused losses in crores to the water board while damaging the water supply system.-PR
