The Punjab Health Department has chalked out comprehensive health cover plan to provide efficient medical cover to the participants of procession on the eve of martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) on August 22. The management of all the government hospitals have been instructed to complete necessary arrangements by enforcing emergency duty roster and displaying emergency crisis management plan in the hospitals.
The Health Department has also issued instructions to all the principals of autonomous medical institutions, medical superintendents of the hospitals and EDOs (Health) of all the districts in Punjab. The officers have been directed to ensure availability of senior administrative and medical staff in the hospitals and availability of sufficient number of beds to meet any eventuality.
They have been further directed to ensure availability of sufficient quantity of all life saving medicines. Medical superintendents of the hospitals have directed to keep biomedical equipment, lifts and standby generators in perfect working conditions. The fully equipped and functional ambulances along with trained staff and medicines would be available to provide medical cover to the participants of processions on 22nd August. The Health Department has further directed the EDOs to co-ordinate with the district administration including respective DCOs/DPOs for sharing the plan of processions/Majalis, prepare foolproof medical cover plan and furnish a copy of medical cover plan to the department immediately.
