National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) closed its office located in Swan area near Behria Town in compliance with the Supreme Court of Pakistan's orders. A registration office of NADRA Provincial Headquarters was operating in Swan area of Rawalpindi to register people. The office is closed and people have been asked to visit the NADRA Cantt Branch Office at Mall Road near GPO Rawalpindi for collection of their computerised national identity cards (CNICs) or submission of data forms.
The Supreme Court during hearing a petition filed against NADRA for registration of bogus votes in Beharia Town directed the NADRA to close the operation there. The NADRA counsel pleaded before the apex court that the NADRA office has been closed in Beharia Town and shifted to Swan. But the apex court directed the NADRA to close the Swan office. The NADRA has closed its Swan office and appealed to people to visit NADRA Center Mall Road Rawalpindi.
