Ministry of Religious Affairs will arrange training session for intending pilgrims after Eid-ul-Fitr and training session called in National Press Club last day has no link with the Ministry. An official of Ministry of Religious Affairs told APP, "We will invite the intending pilgrims after Eid-ul-Fitr and training session in the National Press Club was called by a private company."
It may be mentioned here that some intending pilgrims gathered in National Press Club on Thursday and staged a protest demonstration against the ministry for not making arrangements for training. Private sector had invited the intending pilgrims for the training not the ministry and protest of the pilgrims against the ministry was unjustified.
He said in order to facilitate the intending pilgrims in performing their rituals in a befitting manner all Hajj directorates across the country will launch a comprehensive training programme. The purpose of this training is to provide orientation and awareness of Manasik-e-hajj to the group leaders as well as intending Hajj pilgrims at district and tehsil level. A Memorandum of Understanding has been singed by the ministry with PTV and PBC and number of hajj awareness/education programmes have been recorded and aired.
He also informed during training the intending pilgrims will be also given seasonal, swine flu and meningitis vaccination. "We have decree from the Mufti (Religious authority) that the vaccination will not affect the fast (Roza) but we avoid training to facilitate the intending pilgrims as journey in the fast is difficult task".
He said as per directives of the Saudi authorities the intending pilgrims would have to carry medical certificates of administering vaccines while departing for the Hajj. President of National Press Club Afzal Butt told APP that a private company had approached to arrange training for intending pilgrims one month ago. "We have informed the company about the rent of hall and procedure but after that it has not contacted the NPC".
