The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) and Punjab Medical College (PMC), Faisalabad inked a Memorandum of Understanding for their collaboration in the areas of research, academia, trainings, information dissemination, exchange of staff and students, internship of trainee students.
The MoU was signed by UAF Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan and PMC Principal Professor Dr Riaz Hussain at the National Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFSAT). Professor Dr Faqir Muhammad Anjum, Director General NIFSAT and Syed Mussarat-ul-Husnain, Director, Medical Education, PMC are the focal persons. UAF and PMC will make exchange of staff to complement academic programmes of both the institutions particularly for the courses related to Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
They will also collaborate in exchanging human resources to the extent of its availability, research collaborations and other activities, where feasible. They will also make collaborative work particularly analyses at both institutions entitling the faculty and students for the usage of logistic and intellectual support at approved rates completely equivalent to their own students and faculty members.
Under the agreement, the partnership will also be extended for sending joint research proposals for funding involving scientists, clinicians and laboratories of both the partners as collaborators. PMC will be in charge of recognition of degrees of common interest by PMDC and also the visits of statutory bodies/authorities.
