The Swiss franc rose against both the euro and the dollar on Friday as growing signs of a slowdown in the US economy and concerns some European banks may face short-term funding stress sapped investor appetite for risky assets. The franc rose 0.6 percent against the euro compared to the New York close, trading at 1.1312 francs per euro. Against the dollar the franc rose 0.5 percent, trading at 0.7898.
