The Karachi Port handled 66,470 tonnes of cargo including 33,632 tonnes of import cargo, 32,838 tonnes of export cargo and 3,434 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 33,632 tonnes comprised of 19,689 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,677 tonne of general cargo; 12,266 tonnes of bulk cargo: 726 tonnes of wheat and 11,500 tonnes of coal.
The total export cargo of 32,838 tonnes comprised of 25,024 tonnes of containerised cargo; 430 tonnes of general cargo; 4,484 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,375 tonnes of cement; 830 tonnes of talcum powder; 1,279 tonnes of rice and 2,900 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Four ships namely Hyundai General, OEL Trust, MT Lahore and Argent Iris with two container ships, crude oil tanker and ethanol carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Seven vessels viz Emirates Kanako, APL Sokhana, Kota Azam, OOCL Dalian, Gem of Dahej, Global Genesis and Alliance Norfolk carrying four container ships, oil tanker, bulk cargo ship and car carrier respectively are currently at the berths.
A container ship namely Lara Rickmers expected to sail on Saturday, while three ships namely Gem of Dahej, Nizar-M and Alliance Norfolk carrying naphtha ship, wheat carrier and vehicles carrier respectively are expected to sail on Sunday. Three vessels Lodestar Genesis, Royal Peridot and MOL Bravery with chemicals ship, ethanol carrier and container ship respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while six vessels viz Wan Hai-605, YM Fuzhou, APL Zircon, Hyundai Discovery, Thor Endeavour and Fu Yuan Shan carrying four container ships, coal carrier and general cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Sunday. Four ships namely Al-Soor-II, Grace, Glen Canyon Bridge and Courage with HSD tanker, oil tanker, container ship and vehicles carrier respectively are expected to arrive on Monday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 76,073 tonnes, comprising 59,075 tonnes of import cargo and 16,998 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,100 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Saturday.
The total import cargo of 59,075 tonnes includes 41,500 tonnes of furnace oil; 1,587 tonnes of LPG; 11,801 tonnes of iron ore and 4,187 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 16,998 tonnes includes 5,001 tonnes of cement and 11,997 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Two ships namely MT Pacific Energy and MT Long Champ sailed out to sea on Saturday morning. A total number of six vessels MV Tycoon-II, MV Afamia, CV Glory, MV Mahmut Saka, MT Pacific Energy and MT Long Champ are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, containers, furnace oil, LPG and iron ore respectively during last 24 hours. Two ships namely MT New Challenger and MT Remi carrying diesel oil and furnace oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. No ships are expected to take berths on Sunday.
