President Asif Ali Zardari met with Sindh ministers belonging to Pakistan Peoples Party at the President's House on Saturday and discussed matters relating to law and order situation in Karachi. Quoting sources, a private TV channel reported that various options including replacement of chief minister and home minister of Sindh also came under discussion.
However, according to a federal minister any specific change in the present set-up in Sindh is not expected. Those provincial ministers who attended the meeting at presidency included Ayaz Soomro, Zulfiqar Mirza, Sharjeel Memon and a federal minister. Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Home Minister Manzoor Wasan called on Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan at the Governor's House late Saturday and discussed matters relating to Muttahida Qaumi Movement joining the ruling coalition.
According to the channel, no sooner did the chief minister and the home minister leave the Governor's House, a high-level delegation of MQM arrived at the Governor's House where Dr Ishrat briefed the delegation about his discussions with the chief minister and the home minister. Quoting sources the channel claimed that MQM and PPP has to settle certain issues relating to coalition government before the arrival of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani who is expected to arrive in the city today (Sunday).
