Samsung has announced that it will reveal a Thunderbolt 3 curved QLED monitor next week at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Next week, CES will witness Samsung Electronics’ ultra-wide 34-inch CJ791 that the company claims to be the first monitor to adjoin QLED display, smooth curves and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity together.

The Thunderbolt 3 cable connectivity will transfer data at an incredible speed of over 40 Gigabits per second, which is four times faster than the fastest USB. It will also let the monitor to give up to 85 watts of laptop charging power.

The curved monitor has a 3440x1440 QHD resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio and also a height-adjustable stand and tilt functionality. It has a 178-degree viewing angle and 125% color reproduction rate. This can help professionals view large files, spreadsheets, data tables in a more readable format without the need of continuous scroll or zoom.

As per Samsung, not only the slim, narrow-bezel monitor has an exceptional processing speed, but also exceptional picture quality for a comfortable and productive user experience. The company has the monitor is designed for entertainment and business audiences. Its splendorous and realistic detail will surely attract gamers and entertainment aficionados. Because of CJ791’s four milliseconds response time, the monitor will have smooth transitions between scenes, making it perfect for racing, flight simulation and first-person battle games.

“As the pioneer of the curved monitor industry, Samsung continues to seek new ways to refine our displays and exceed consumers’ expectations on heightened performance and presentation,” said Seog-gi Kim, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

“The CJ791 aligns Thunderbolt 3 connectivity with our best-in-class curvature and QLED picture quality to captivate and engage users, while also promoting improved organization and productivity. We are thrilled to demonstrate the full capabilities of our innovative new display to CES 2018 attendees,” he added.

Samsung, however, has not yet revealed details regarding when the curved monitor would be available or how much it would cost, wrote Slash Gear.
