Founders Group of the flour millers have thanked the Punjab Food Department for allowing the flour millers to grind their wheat bought from private sector. Chairman Founders Group Dr Bilal Aslam Sufi and Co-chairman Muhammad Khalique Arshad in a joint statement issued here Wednesday, urged the provincial food department to fix issue price of government wheat at Rs 1000 per maund while devising new release policy.
They said issue price in Sindh was Rs 1000 per maund, so the release price in Punjab should be fixed at par with it or below it. They also criticised the working of new laboratories set up by the Punjab Food Department for testing of flour and claimed that their results were unsatisfactory. Dr Bilal Aslam Sufi and Khalique Arshad also demanded that a uniform wheat quota policy should be adopted for the flour millers from Attock to Rahim Yar Khan.
