Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Labour Sher Azam Wazir has said that mega uplift projects for the welfare of the labourers were in pipeline for which funds would be released shortly from the Workers Welfare Fund. Talking to media persons here on Wednesday, Labour Minister said that despite financial constraints mega development projects were underway in the province that would benefit the labourers' community.
He said that uplift project costing Rs 10 billion would be initiated in the current fiscal for the labourers of Lakki Cement Factory. Moreover, he said that Workers Welfare Board Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would also shortly start construction work on 10,000 housing units for the labourers. He said that 2,356 flats were constructed in a bid to provide residential facilities to the labour class and added that the Federal government has provided Rs 2.5 billion rupees for the project.
