The Met Office on Thursday warned that heavy downpour may cause urban flash flooding in most parts of the country, saying more monsoon rains are likely to fall during the next 24 hours. Under the sever weather warning, the office says heavy downpour is likely to cause urban/flash flooding in Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.
It adds the flooded areas of lower Sindh will also receive more rains and thundershower. It forecasts widespread rain and thundershower with isolated heavy falls are expected in Punjab, Khyber- Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir. Sindh and eastern Balochistan are likely to receive scattered rain and thundershower with isolated heavy falls during the next 24 hours, it adds.
During the last 24 hours, widespread rain and thundershower with isolated heavy falls occurred in Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir; whereas, scattered rain and thundershower hit Sindh and eastern Balochistan, according to the Met Office. Chief amount of rain recorded during the last 24 hours is as Kohat 294mm, Jehlum 73mm, Peshawar(Civil) 73mm, Mangla 69mm, M.B.Din 63mm, Balakot 51mm, Malamjabba 30mm, Saidu Sharif 28mm, Peshawar(PAF) 25mm, Khuzzdar 22mm, Gujrat and L.Dir 18mm,Dir 16mm, Parachinar and Karachi (AP) 15mm, respectively. Weather forecast says Karachi's weather is likely to remain partly cloudy, chances of rain and thundershower during the next 24 hours with temperature ranging between 33 degree centigrade and 35 degree centigrade.
