Muslims all across the country will observe Jumat-ul Wida, last Friday of the holy month of Ramazan, with religious reverence today (Friday). A large number of the faithful would pay visit to mosques to offer prayers with respect and honour as the day bears key importance for them.
Mashaikh and Ulema would deliver lectures on the importance of Ramazan and urge the followers to follow the path of Allah and the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and fully act upon the golden teachings of Islam. Special prayers will be offered for the prosperity and solidarity among Muslims as well as unity of the Ummah.
Police has made foolproof security arrangement in the provincial metropolis on the occasion of Jumat-ul-Wida In this regard; Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) has said that strict vigilance should be maintained at all sensitive religious and officials' places in the city. At all places, which are overcrowded, like bus stands markets, parking, hospitals, educational institutions and other organisations, strict preventive security measures should be taken to ward of any possibility of subversion. This was stated by Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Ahmad Raza Tahir.
He directed high-level of preparedness, readiness and effective planning at divisional, sub-divisional and police station levels to meet any emergency situation. He ordered all officers to apprise their subordinates and 'jawans' about their emergency duties, so that no confusion or hesitation is created in any case of any subversive activity. He said that during the last week of Ramazan-ul-Mubarik, it is also need of hour to keep Quick Response Force (QRF) in its high-level of preparedness, so that the concerned police officers and officials can perform their duty in effective manner.
The CCPO said that, during the present situation, Lahore Police will have to work with even greater zeal, dedication and hard work to come up to the expectations of people and Punjab government. He directed Lahore Police to ensure comprehensive strategy for maintenance of security on the occasion of Juma congregations through snap checking.
The CCPO further ordered usage of walkthrough gates for security purpose and asked divisional SPs to personally review duty of all police personnel deputed at Darbars and Imam Bargahs, along-with ensuring continuous patrolling of their respective areas in an effective manner. CCPO said that, in the perspective of current situation, maintenance of law and order and propagation of harmony in the city is the need of the hour. He also directed to increase usage of metal detectors and ensuring maintenance of security at mosques with the close co-operation of its organisers.
He directed Lahore Police to carry out special surveillance and snap checking of all inns, hotels, bus stands and wagon stands to ward of any possibility of anti-state activity and ensuring peace and amity in the city. CCPO further directed parking of all vehicles and motorcycles well away from important buildings, mosques and imam barghas.
He said further directed that code of ethics, formulated with the help of various schools of thought and to be strictly implemented, according to which there is strict ban on all provocative and hate mongering from the pulpit.
The CCPO said close co-operation of citizens is highly essential to thwart nefarious aims of the anti-state elements. He appealed to the citizens to keep a watchful eye on its surroundings and in case they observe any suspicious activity, inform Emergency 15 immediately.
