Pakistan Reinsurance Company Limited (PRCL) has posted Rs 378.95 million as profit after tax in the half year period ended June 30, 2011 as compared to after tax loss of Rs 86.639 million recorded in the corresponding period in 2010. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held here on Thursday declared that the company's earning per share stood at Rs 1.26 in the period under review against after tax loss of Re 0.29 in the same period last year.
The company posted Rs 425 million as profit before taxation in the half-year period in 2011 against before tax loss of Rs 80 million in the same period last year. The company's chairperson/ chief executive, Rukhsana Saleem, in the directors' report on behalf of the board directors said that the company is conscious of the global macro economic challenges currently being faced by the country. The remaining six months pose challenges for which the management will make all out efforts to achieve good results.
