US wheat rose on Thursday, led by a 2 percent jump in Kansas City hard red winter milling wheat as drought posed a threat to seedings of the 2012 crop. Corn and soyabeans held firm as there was more supportive news from the annual Pro Farmer crop tour, which was scouting crops in Illinois and Iowa.
At 11:39 am CDT (1639 GMT), Kansas City Board of Trade (KCBT) December wheat was up 14-1/2 cents per bushel at $8.73-1/2, CBOT December was up 10 at $7.87-1/4, new-crop December corn was up 1/4 at $7.43-1/4 and new-crop November soyabeans were unchanged at $13.93-1/2.
