Total 31 candidates filed their nominations on Friday for the forthcoming elections of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to be held on September 20 and 21. Twelve candidates filed papers for Corporate Class. These include Farooq Iftikhar, Abuzar Shaad, Kashif Younas Meher, Shahzeb Akram, Ahmed Hasnain, Raees A Sheikh, Hasnain Reza Mirza, Mahmood Ghaznavi, Majid Abdullah, Khalid Javed Rabbani, Tariq Masood and Shoaib Zahid.
Eighteen candidates filed nominations for Associate Class: They include Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, Aftab Ahmad Vohra, Khamis Saeed, Nasir Saeed, Mohammad Amjad Chaudhry, Zeshan Khalil, Waqar Ahmad Mian, Hassan Akhtar, Mohammad Nawaz, Ahmed Rasool Mian, Mohammad Manzoor, Mohammad Ajaz, Mohammad Azeem, Gul Maan, Shabbir Ahmad, Khalid Mahmood, Naeem Ahmad and Anees Iqbal.
Nabila Intisar was the only candidate for reserved seat of women entrepreneur. As such, she has been elected unopposed. LCCI Secretary General Muhammad Saqlain received the nomination papers. Final list of candidates will be issued on September 16 while polls for Corporate and Associate Class will be held on September 20 and 21 respectively.
