The electronic water purifier (Cure-0111), prepared with the joint efforts of Breast and Children Cancer Institute (BCCI) Welfare Society and University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Peshawar, has been marketed. In this connection, a function was held in the central office of BCCI in Sikandar Town.
In the beginning of the function, chairman of BCCI and former Director of IRNUM Hospital Peshawar, Dr Gul Rehman briefed the participants regarding the benefits of the instrument. He said that according to the surveys of international agencies, water of the flood-affected districts Charsadda, Nowshera and Peshawar is injurious to health. According to an analysis, only one spoon of water of such areas has 300 to 10 million germs, which bears bad impact on the health and caused cholera, hepatitis and cancer forcing the patients to leave hopeless and poverty stricken life. This is against the better future of both nation and the country, he added.
Dr Gul said that BCCI, under its human awareness campaign with the assistance of the UET, has prepared a modern machine of international standard, which can guarantee 100 percent purification of water from germs and other materials. The instrument, he added, has the capacity of purifying 300 to 500 litres of water daily and is important for the lives of the poor and destitute.
The use of Cure-0111 could help minimise environmental pollution in surgical rooms of hospitals, operation theatre, maternity homes, schools, colleges and other places.
Later, Dr Gul exhibited practical demonstration of the instrument. Beside the manufacturer, Engineer Noor Rehman of the UET, the function was attended by students of different universities, colleges and teachers, health experts, representatives of the Environmental Protection Agent (EPA) and people belonging to different walks of life.
