Overseas Pakistanis are backbone of economy: NA body
ISLAMABAD: Chairman Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development on Thursday said that it is responsibility of government to take care of the rights of overseas Pakistanis and they are the backbone of our economy.
The Committee meeting held under the Chairmanship of Mir Aamir Ali Khan Magsi at Parliament House Islamabad.
The Committee took notice and recommended that the government should take care of overseas Pakistanis, especially, their properties and the government should make an automated system to register their complaints.
Moreover, the Committee recommended that not only a commission like Punjab may be set up to address the grievances of the overseas Pakistanis, but other Provinces may also be motivated to set -up such Commissions.
The Committee examined the agreement between OPF and Gulberg Housing Scheme and recommended to implement the agreement according in letter and spirit. Otherwise Committee shall take disciplinary action against the culprits.
The Committee meeting was presided over by Mir Aamir Ali Khan Magsi, Chairman Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development and attended by Ch. Abid Raza, MNA, Chaudhry Muhammad Munir Azhar, MNA, Malik Muhammad Uzair Khan, MNA, Ms. Sabiha Nazir, MNA, Ms. Shakila Khalid Luqman, MNA, Musarat Rafique Mahesar, MNA, Ms. Shagufta Jumani, MNA, Khial Zaman Orakzai, MNA, Sheikh Salahuddin, MNA and Ms. Aisha, MNA. Moreover, Secretary, Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Dr. Hashim M. Popalzai and other senior civil officers attended the meeting.
