UN Refugees Agency (UNHCR) has announced that its voluntary repatriation centres will remain closed for Eid-ul-Fitr. The announcement said that registered Afghans in Pakistan are informed that UNHCR Chamkani and Baleli voluntary repatriation centres (VRCs) in Peshawar and Quetta will be closed for Eid-ul -Fitr. Afghans are advised not to approach the VRCs on these dates.
According to schedule, the Chamkani VRC in Peshawar will be closed from 30th August to 3rd September 2011 and will resume working from 4th September 2011. The working days, including Sunday to Wednesday: 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Thursday 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. Friday and Saturday are closed.
Similarly, the Baleli VRC centre in Quetta will be closed from 31st August to 2 September 2011 and will resume working from 3rd September 2011, while the working days are including Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday: Open 08:00 am to 3:30 pm; and Sunday: Open 08:00 am to 12:00 noon. Thursday and Friday are closed. The Registered Afghans are directed that they should contact UNHCR on phone numbers before their intended day of return, which are Islamabad Helpline: 0300-501-8698, Peshawar Helpline: 0300-858-5600, Quetta Helpline: 0333-781-9601.
