Ambassador of Sweden Ms Ulrika Sundberg and Ambassador of France Daniel Jouanneau Paul Henry, separately paid farewell call on the President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday. The President while talking to the Ambassadors lauded their valuable services for further strengthening bilateral relations of Pakistan with their respective countries.
He said that on behalf of the people of Pakistan he is thankful to them for their valuable services and contributions especially at a time when natural calamities added to the difficulties of people already suffering the burden of ongoing war against militants. Hoping that the pace of co-operation in various areas especially in economic area would be further accelerated in future, the President said, Pakistan attaches great importance towards its relations with France and Sweden.
He hoped that the two countries would continue supporting Pakistan's bid for better access to the European market. Highlighting geo-strategic location as well as importance of the country for regional stability and peace, the President said that the country is undergoing a crucial phase of fighting and neutralising militant mindset by focusing on socio-economic development of the people especially in those areas where the militant mindset could potentially find conducive environment for their recruitment and other activities.
