Targetted killing, extortion, kidnapping: businessmen appreciate measures taken by Malik
Businessmen and traders demanded the government to continue ongoing surgical operation in the city till arresting last target killer, member of extortion mafia and recovering illegal arms totally. They expressed their satisfaction over measures adopted to control target killing, extortion and kidnapping.
They thanked Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Sindh government, Rangers and police for carrying on surgical operation which was the long-pending demand of business community. Chairman Law and Order sub-committee of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Nadeem Khan has suggested that long-term planning should be made to control law and order and measures should be adopted to prevent it in future.
He noted that the police department facing serious shortage of manpower and suggested that fresh recruitment should be made to fill the gap and for better managing law and order. He pointed out that due to prevailing law-and-order situation industrial production registered substantially decrease as well as export registered declining in recent past.
Meanwhile chairman of the association Johar Ali Qandhari, leader of businessmen, S.M.Munir and Shahid Jaweed Qureshi in a joint statement said that after adoption of punitive measures industrial activities have started limping back to improvement They demanded that Rehman Malik should stay in the city till the ongoing operation achieves desired results They also demanded to arrest killer of prominent industrialists Khalid Iqbal.
