Director General Rescue 1122, Dr Rizwan Naseer has said Rescue 1122 dealt with more road accidents during Ramazan as compared to other months of this year because 553 road accidents occurred during the holy month. He reviewed the data of emergencies during Ramadan to evolve an effective preparedness and response strategy to further enhance the performance of Medical Rescue and Fire Services provided by Rescue 1122.
The meeting was informed that out of 1014 emergency calls 553 were traffic accident, 15 fire incidents, 19 crime calls, 5 drowning incidents, 6 special rescue emergencies and 416 were medical emergencies. The meeting was informed that the data of traffic accidents for previous months of this year showed that 402 road traffic accidents occurred in January, 324 in February, 430 in March, 419 in April, 444 in May, 462 in June, 502 in July and 553 in August (month of Ramazan).
