Lahore High Court here Friday issued notice to the federal government and Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) in a petition challenging closure of gas supply to CNG stations in Punjab for two and a half days. The petitioner, a bar member Shahid Gilani, submitted that the supply of CNG was closed for three days only in Punjab and not other three provinces.
He stated that many appointments were made in Ogra on political basis that caused problem in distribution of gas. He said that it is discrimination against Punjab, which is unwarranted by the constitution. He, therefore, prayed to the court to direct the federal government to appoint a commission to devise a gas distribution formula based on equality.
