The Chairman of Sindh National Front, Mumtaz Ali Bhutto, said on Friday that bloodshed in Karachi can not be stopped if the rulers continued playing the politics of reconciliation to prolong their power. "The bloodshed can be stopped within a few days. But that needs political will," he said, recalling language riots in 1972 during his government tenure when Sindhi Language Bill was passed by Sindh Assembly.
"The Urdu speaking were fighting against Sindh government, but we controlled the situation in four days, and resolved the language dispute." Speaking at the inauguration of SNF office at Garhi Khuda Bux, he said: "Reconciliation policy is a curse. That must be given up now to restore peace."
About his differences with Benazir, Mumtaz said he had differences with her only because she trusted those who were remnants of dictator Zia, opportunists, corrupt people, and enemies of her father. The SNF press release said that a large number of people, including PPP leaders Naushad Ali Bhutto, Mujahid Ali Bhutto, Khadim Hussain Bhutto, Dilshad Ali Bhutto and others joined SNF along with their community members.
