The Met Office on Friday said another monsoon weather system had developed over eastern parts of India, which was heading towards southern parts of Pakistan.
According to the new weather advisory of the Met Office, under the influence of the fresh weather system (low pressure area) more widespread rains of moderate to heavy intensity are expected in Sindh, South Punjab and Eastern Balochistan from Sunday evening to Tuesday.
It says scattered rains are also expected in upper and central Punjab, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and Kashmir during this period. It said the current spell of monsoon rain was weakening gradually and likely to subside during the next 36 hours after scattered rains in Sindh.
The Met Office forecasted scattered rain/thundershower with isolated heavy falls is expected in Sindh, north-east Balochistan, Punjab, D.I.Khan, Hazara division and Kashmir in the next 24 hours. In line with the weather summery, the Met Office says the seasonal low lies over north-west Balochistan, adding that monsoon currents are still penetrating in eastern and southern parts of the country.
Under the severe warning, it says heavy rainfall may cause urban/flash flooding in Sindh and Southern Punjab.
It says widespread rain/thundershower with isolated heavy falls occurred in Sindh, southern Punjab while scattered rain/thundershower in remaining parts of Punjab, Malakand and Hazara divisions, Gilgit- Baltistan and Kashmir during the last 24 hours
Chief amount of rain recorded as, Mithi 165 mm, Chachro 110 mm, Sanghar 100 mm, Diplo 62 mm, Mirpur Khas 58 mm, Tando Jan Muhammad 54 mm, Sahiwal 30 mm, Rawalpindi 26 mm, Murree 25 mm, Dir, Kakul 22 mm, Sakrand 15 mm, Malamjabba 13 mm, Garidupatta 12 mm, Jehlum 11 mm, Pattan, Nawabshah 8 each and Chhor 06mm in the lat 24 hours.
The Karachi's weather is likely to remain partly cloudy, the Met Office forecast chances of rain-thundershower during the next 24 hours with temperature ranging between 37 degree centigrade and 39 degree centigrade.
