Crime Investigation Department (CID) and Anti-Extremist Cell (AEC) on Saturday claimed to have nabbed some 11 persons including five target killers in separate raids at various parts of metropolis.
According to CID officials, some eight suspects including two target killers were arrested in separate raids at Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Korangi Industrial Area, Sir Syed, Chishti Nagar and Macchar Colony. They said the accused persons including two target killers namely Daulat Khan and Toor Khan were identified as Baghi Jan, Abdul Ghaffor, Ali Mubarak, Shehzad Hussain alias Imtiaz, Mohammad Hussain alias Hassan and Azizullah. CID officials also claimed to have recovered two Kalashnikovs, one repeater, five TT pistols and a snatched vehicle from them. They said these persons were allegedly involved in several heinous crimes including target killings, extortion, kidnapping, police encounters and robberies.
Meanwhile, AEC has also claimed to have arrested three target killers namely Kamran Siddiq alias Nomi, Tariq and Akbar Ali from New Karachi Industrial Area and Pak Colony. AEC officials said that huge cache of weapons including three Kalashnikovs, one hand grenade and one 9mm pistol were recovered from their possession. They said the detained persons during initial course of interrogation confessed to have murdered over half a dozen people during recent spree of violence.
