At least five persons including ex-councillor of MQM were killed in separate incidents at various parts of the metropolis here on Saturday. According to the police, the victim Nawab, 55, son of Saeeduddin was assaulted by unidentified armed men at main bus stop of Khudadad colony in the limits of Brigade police station.
Resultantly, the victim received fatal bullet wounds and succumbed to his injures on the spot. According to the police the victim who received single bullet on his head is said to be former councillor of MQM. A bullet-riddled body stuffed in a gunny bag was found within the limits of Baghdadi police station. The victim, who was identified as Nazar alias Jumah son of Ibrahim, received two bullets on his upper torso.
Police said the deceased was kidnapped and then he was tortured and murdered. They said the kidnappers threw his body near Native Gatty Bridge and ran away. The victim who was an employee of Fishery was the resident of Sassi Lane. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK).
A 25-year-old man was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in the jurisdiction of SITE-A police station. The victim, who was identified as Usman, 25, son of Bakht Zada, received multiple bullets and died on the spot. Police said the victim, who was an employee of hosiery factor, might have been murdered over personal enmity. The body was transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for autopsy.
Yet another man was killed and his friend got injured when unidentified armed riders opened indiscriminate firing on them at Lasi Parah in Model Colony remits.
Police said the deceased Mukhtayar Marfaani, 30, son of Dargah Muhammad, who was said to be a worker of one of the nationalist parties, was targeted when he was going somewhere along with his friend Roshan Din at Model colony police precincts. The body and the injured were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities. The victim was the resident of Lassi Goth where the incident took place.
A 13-year-old boy, a son of unit in charge MQM Korangi sector was targeted in the limits of Korangi police station. Police said that unidentified men barged in the house of Sagheer Siddiqui, unit in charge of Korangi sector and opened indiscriminate firing, leaving his 13-year-old son in a pool of blood. Following the said incident, tension prevailed in the said area where all shops and markets were closed due to uncertain situation.
One Shumaila, 16 daughter of Bashir received stray bullet and died on spot when she was taking pleasure in heavy shower at her rooftop at Nazimabad No 2. The body was shifted to ASH where the family member took her body without legal formalities.
