National Health Department reported on Saturday that 2,413 dengue cases had been confirmed across the country, fearing the toll could rise in days to come. The report says a total of 2,708 dengue patients have been admitted so far and dengue virus has been confirmed in 2,413 cases, a private news channel reported on Saturday.
In Punjab, 2,170 dengue cases have been confirmed and 28 cases have been reported from Islamabad. The report further disclosed that 26 dengue cases were registered from Rawalpindi while 176 cases were registered in Sindh. Moreover, eight dengue cases were confirmed in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and five cases were reported in AJK. According to the report, so far five people died due to dengue fever.
Meanwhile, 33 more patients of dengue fever have been reported in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. These patients are being treated at PIMS and Poly Clinic Hospital Islamabad. Furthermore, state of emergency has been declared at all hospitals in twin cities.
