The Karachi Port handled 93,236 tonnes of cargo including 78,650 tonnes of import cargo, 14,586 tonnes of export cargo and 4,931 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 78,650 tonnes comprised of 38,486 tonnes of containerised cargo; 13,531 tonne of general cargo; 5,757 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,729 tonnes of DAP; 2,028 tonnes of wheat and 20,876 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 14,586 tonnes comprised of 13,255 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10 tonnes of general cargo and 1,321 tonnes of cement. Five ships namely Al-Mirqab, YM Fuzhou, Honor, Liberty Promise and Pacific Friend with two container ships, two vehicles carriers and general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Nine vessels viz APL Chicago, OOCL Charleston, Kota Akbar, Gifted, Emirates Marina, Marcampania, Lodestar Genesis, Khorfakan and Honor carrying six container ships, two oil tankers and cars carrier respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely San Marino Trader, Fade-1 and Lodestar Genesis carrying general cargo ship, wheat carrier and oil tanker respectively expected to sail on Saturday, while four ships namely Emirates Marina, Uru Bhum, OOCL Charleston and Al-Soor-II carrying three container ships and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Sunday. A container vessel viz Hansa Century due to arrive on Saturday, while four vessels viz MOL Sparkel, APL Shenzhen, Hyundai Highness and Galway Spirit carrying three container ships and naphtha carrier respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 56,348 tonnes, comprising 47,358 tonnes of import cargo and 8,990 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 685 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Saturday.
The total import cargo of 47,358 tonnes includes 37,832 tonnes of furnace oil; 5,599 tonnes of palm oil and 3,927 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 8,990 tonnes includes 4,394 tonnes of cement and 4,596 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A container ship namely CV Dubai Express sailed out to sea during last 24 hours. MT Mire sailed out to sea on Saturday morning, while another ship namely MT Agility is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of five vessels viz CV Dubai Express, MV Sapphire-II, MV Mohammad Prince, MT Mire and MT Agility are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely New Challenges, Al-Salam-II, Remi and Baltic carrying diesel oil and furnace oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A diesel oil tanker MT New Challenges is expected to take berth at FOTCO Oil Terminal on Saturday.
