Futures open interest up by 37.5 percent

Total open interest position at the futures counter increased by 37.5 percent to Rs 1.06 billion during the week ended on September 10, 2011. However, futures spreads declined by 859bps to 8.59 percent on week-on-week basis. Trading at the futures counter improved significantly and the average daily volume increased by 149 percent on week-on-week basis to 7.04 million shares.
