Action will be taken against the owners of medical stores creating an artificial shortage of Panadol and Paracetamol being used in the treatment of dengue fever. Special Branch has been assigned the task of secret vigilance of medical stores.
Member National Assembly, Kh. Saad Rafique while addressing an awareness seminar held regarding dengue fever at DHA Community Center here on Sunday, he said that Punjab government would protect the rights of the patients. Kh. Saad Rafique said that strict action would be taken against the private hospitals for looting the dengue patients. He said that government has issued instructions in this regard. He further said the owners of private schools are bound to get spray of anti-mosquito done in their schools, failing which action will be taken against them. Saad Rafique said that the Chief Minister Punjab personally monitoring the measures being taken for eradication of dengue virus. He said that action would also be taken against the officers showing negligence in this regard. Saad Rafique asked the people to seek forgiveness from Almighty Allah to save us from this disease.
Earlier, Director General Health Punjab, Dr Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry said that dengue is the fast spreading disease in the world and every year five crore people are being affected from this disease throughout the world whereas 2.5 billion population of the world is facing this threat and all countries of South Asia have badly affected by dengue fever. He threw the light on the details of medical facilities being provided in the hospitals and steps taken by the Health Department Punjab, for elimination of dengue virus. DG Health told that an effective system of spray has been started in the houses by taking the figures of dengue patients from laboratories and all hospitals.
Mian Naseer, Mian Yaseen Mohal MPA, Chief Officer Cantonment Board Dr Saima Shah, Aamir Rashid Deputy CO Walton, Secretary DHA Colonel Naveed and other speakers also addressed the seminar and informed about the arrangement of fogging and spray in DHA and Cantt areas. Dr Saima Shah said that till such time we do not get spray done in our houses and remove the causes of breeding the mosquito, this disease can not be eliminated.
