By abiding to the teachings of Islam in letter and spirit, the Muslim Ummah can meet all the challenges and overcome all the problems being faced by it nowadays.
Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, said while speaking at a congregation in connection with the 21st annual Urs of Hazrat Alhaj Pir Hafiz Pir Habib-ur-Rehman a.k.a. Pir Lasani (RA) at Eidgah Sharif, here on Sunday.
Pir Muhammad Naqib-ur-Rehman, custodian of Eidgah shrine, presided over the congregation. Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman said Muslims should not prefer the luxury and enjoyment of the worldly life on the eternal life and should always keep in view the "Day of Judgement". He reminded that this life is temporary and limited whereas the life after the death is immortal. He said that peace and order could be established in the society by following the teachings of saints and spiritual figures, adding that the country can be strengthened and stabilised through forging unity.
In his presidential address, Pir Muhammad Naqib-ur-Rehman said that the saints and spiritual figures played a leading role in preaching and promotion of Islam in the Subcontinent. He said the Muslims can overcome all their problems by forging unity in their ranks and this goal can be achieved by making Madina-e-Munawwara the 'centre of gravity'.
"Religious scholars and spiritual figures played a leading role in the creation of Pakistan and they are now striving for the stability of the country," the custodian of Eidgah shrine said. "Pir Lasani (RA) lived all his life in accordance with the teachings of Islam and affection and subservience to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). He taught others the Qur'an and Hadith and served the agonised humanity. His life is a beacon for us," he added.-PR
