On Sunday noon Karachi received heavy rains, sending low lying areas inundated and multiplying miseries for people. It rained in Saddar, Liaquatabad, Jamshed, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Keamari and other areas of the city. Saddar town went badly affected due to rains with many of its streets and roads were under knee deep rainwater.
The area from Burns Road to Arts Council Chowrangi was inundated causing problems for both motorists and pedestrians. The CDGK and town municipal officials focused on de-watering main roads and flyovers, neglecting inner streets of congested downtown residential areas.
