The administration of Lahore General Hospital (LGH) has reserved the hospital phase-II building only for dengue patients in order to provide better facilities to them. Moreover, the Outdoor Patients Department (OPD) will remain open round the clock and as many as 50 workers will be recruited as "dengue workers" to fight against the menace in an effective manner.
This was expressed by Professor Dr Tariq Salauddin, Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and LGH here on Sunday.
Professor Tariq Salauddin said that there were 10 CBC machines are functional at LGH to initially diagnose the dengue virus. He said that on the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif every medical facility is being made available for the patients and doctors, nurses and Para-medical staff is serving the patients day and night keeping in view the present situation of dengue fever.
Professor Tariq Salauddin said that LGH has a capacity of 800 patients to be treated on daily basis but presently approximately 6000 patients including dengue affected ones are coming to hospital, while encouraging the staff for the dedication and sympathy, he said that the Allah Almighty would give them the great reward.
