The kidnappers released the two abductees, including a US national, who were kidnapped from Qambrani Road here on Monday, police said. Earlier, some unidentified armed men kidnapped two persons, including one US national from Qambrani Road area here.
According to police, two persons namely Zahid and Mubashir were travelling on Saryab Road and had been picked up by unidentified gunmen when they reached Qambrani Road.
The number of kidnappers was reportedly five. Nobody has claimed to have kidnapped the persons so far. After the incident, police and Frontier Corps (FC) reached the site and cordoned off the area to conduct a search operation. The kidnapper, because of strict security measure taken by law enforcement agencies, freed the abductees and fled from the scene. The investigations of the incident have been started.
