The Karachi Port handled 183,574 tonnes of cargo including 142,557 tonnes of import cargo, 41,017 tonnes of export cargo and 2,702 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 142,557 tonnes comprised of 64,705 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,009 tonne of general cargo; 2,691 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,088 tonnes of DAP; 1,603 tonnes of wheat and 72,152 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 41,017 tonnes comprised of 40,295 tonnes of containerised cargo; 16 tonnes of general cargo and 706 tonnes of cement. Thirteen ships namely APL Chicago, OOCL Charleston, Kota Akbar, Gifted, Emirates Marina, Hansa Century, Uru Bhum, San Marina Trader, Lodestar Genesis, Al-Soor-II, Khorfakan, Fade-1 and Green Field-1 with seven container ships, two general cargo ships, two oil tankers, wheat carrier and DAP ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Hansa Century, Uru Bhum, MOL Sparkel, Hyundai Highness and Lady Hind carrying four container ships and bulk cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths. A container ship namely Bunga Raya Tiga expected to sail on Monday, while two container ships namely Hyundai Highness and Marcampania are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Six vessels viz Bunga Raya Tiga, STX Patriakos, MT Quetta, Galway Spirit, Arctic Bridge and Vinalines Sky carrying two container ships, crude oil tanker, naphtha carrier, mogas ship and coal carrier respectively due to arrive on Monday, while four vessels viz APL Coral, Conti Brisbane, Marilena and Genius Star-X Spirit carrying two container ships, diesel oil tanker and project cargo respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 66,585 tonnes, comprising 40,099 tonnes of import cargo and 26,486 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,269 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 40,099 tonnes includes 11,300 tonnes of furnace oil; 13,112 tonnes of palm oil; 3,600 tonnes of chemicals and 12,087 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 26,486 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two ships namely CV Maersk Missouri and MV Siva Coral sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while three more ships namely ACX Hibiscus, Asir and Eva Schulte are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of eight vessels viz CV Maersk Missouri, MV ACX Hibiscus, MV Asir, MV Sapphire-II, MV Mohammad Prince, MV Siva Coral, MT Remi and Eva Schulte are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, chemicals, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely Al-Salam-II, Baltic, MSC Aurelie, Golden Ambrosia and SC Guoji carrying diesel oil, furnace oil, containers, chemicals and edible oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz MSC Aurelie, Golden Ambrosia and SC Guoji carrying containers, chemicals and edible oil respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday.
