At least four persons including a woman were killed in separate incidents at various parts of metropolis on Monday. According to police, a man found dead in mysterious circumstances at his shop located at Meera Naka in the limits of Chakiwara police station. Police found a strangulated body of the victim Rohail, 28 son of Iqbal, a resident of Gulistan Colony Lyari in the bathroom of his tyre shop situated at Coal Godown Meera Naka Lyari.
They suspected that the victim committed suicide due to financial issues. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for legal formalities and later handed over to his heirs. A 26-year-old man namely Somar fell down from a lift at Gulistan Jauhar in the limits of Sharah Faisal police station. The victim, who was lift-technician, fell down while fixing the lift problems of Sunny Pride apartments situated at Jauhar Moor Gulistan Jauhar. Police shifted him to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities and later handed over his body to family.
A woman was electrocuted at her house at Kala Board Mehmoodabad in the jurisdiction of Tipu Sultan police station. A 40-year-old Zubaida wife of Latif was electrocuted while switching on a water pumping motor in her house in Kala board Mehmoodabad. Area people took her body to JPMC where doctors confirmed her death. An elderly man was crushed to death in Nasir Jump Korangi in the limits of Korangi Industrial Area police station. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained, while he was hit by speedy vehicle while crossing the road near Nasir Jump. The body was shifted to JPMC for medical treatment and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification.
