Arrangements have been finalised to mark World Tourism Day in Pakistan and Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) along with other counterparts would organise a series of events to showcase country's potential in its enchanting tourism sector. World Tourism Day is celebrated throughout the world every year on September 27.
The day aims at making people of the world realise the importance of tourism, which not only brings new experiences in lives, but also provides opportunities to recreation, exploration and enjoyment. Tourism also brings freshness and new enthusiasm to the people's lives. Today, it is the only industry, which can promote peace and friendly relationship among the people residing in different countries. TDCP (Punjab Tourism) is participating in the celebration of this day with great zeal and zest.
Managing Director of TDCP Saad S Khan directed all offices and resorts sheltered throughout Punjab to generate different kinds of activities for the promotion of tourism in the region in connection with this day. In Rawalpindi, TDCP regional office is arranging "Tourism Bus Caravan" to Taxila Museum and back to Rawalpindi. TDCP will accommodate all the deserving students of SoS Children Village Rawalpindi. This tour will be arranged, on complimentary basis for children who in normal life are void of such recreational activities which are enjoyed by the elite class.
A series of spectacular events featuring Pakistan's fabulous natural attractions would be unveiled on September 27. Being the National Tourism Organisation and affiliate member of UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) would celebrate World Tourism Day.
PTDC has planned a number of activities to celebrate the World Tourism Day which include: a two-day photographic exhibition (27-28 September) and issuance of messages from the Secretary General UNWTO and MD PTDC on the theme of the Day. In addition, Children of SOS Village School Rawalpindi to be taken on day excursion to Taxila Museum on September 27, besides displaying banners at all Tourist Information Centres and Motels to market rich tourism potential of Pakistan.
