Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Liaqat Baloch on Monday appreciated the efforts of the Punjab government to control dengue virus. The secretary general JI had a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, disclosed an official. Member National Assembly Khawaja Saad Rafique was also present on the occasion.
Talking to Baloch, the chief minister said the Punjab government has launched a vigorous campaign against dengue virus in which participation of all segments of the society has been ensured. He also said all-out measures are being taken for the provision of the best medical facilities to dengue patients in hospitals. "Medicines and machinery for controlling dengue virus are being imported while field hospitals are also being established. Private laboratories and hospitals are also offering their services in this noble cause," he added. He also appreciated the co-operation of Surriya Azim Hospital, which was under the administrative control of Jamaat-e-Islami, and was charging Rs 50 for dengue test as compared to other private laboratories that were charging Rs 90.
