Taiwan stocks ended up 3.09 percent on Tuesday, with Apple Inc suppliers mixed as investors were divided by stronger demand for the hot-selling devices of the California-based company and rumours of orders cut. Compal, the world's No 2 contract PC maker, advanced 2.2 percent after it announced a joint venture plan with the world's No 3 PC brand Lenovo to manufacture computers.
The main TAIEX index surged 212.83 points to 7,089.95. Touch panel maker TPK Holding Co Ltd shot up 4.7 percent, while touchscreen panel maker Wintek Corp jumped 2.66 percent.
