The Karachi Port handled 135,773 tonnes of cargo including 92,176 tonnes of import cargo, 43,597 tonnes of export cargo and 3,380 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 92,176 tonnes comprised of 31,253 tonnes of containerised cargo; 11,923 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,352 tonnes of DAP; 1,063 tonnes of wheat; 5,966 tonnes of coal and 49,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 43,597 tonnes comprised of 20,907 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,882 tonnes of general cargo; 1,216 tonnes of cement and 19,592 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Eight ships namely Bunga Raya Empat, Al-Mirqab, Arnis, APL Ruby, APL Guangzhou, Blossom, Thien Quang and Good Precedent with five container ships, ethanol carrier, soyabean seeds carrier and coal carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Al-Mirqab, Bunga Raya Empat, Valdivia, Hanjin Monaco, MT Karachi and Golden Express carrying four container ships, anf two oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths. Two ships namely MT Karachi and Golden Express carrying two oil tankers expected to sail on Tuesday, while four ships namely Positano, Valdivia, Hanjin Monaco and Fade-1 carrying three container ships and wheat carrier respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Two vessels viz Grace and SCF Pioneer carrying palm oil tanker and mogas ship respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while eight vessels viz Wan Hai-605, Hyundai General, Cap George, Cora, Oriental Protea, Blue Sand, Nizar-M and Leopard-B carrying three container ships, low sulphur tanker, ethanol ship, coal carrier, wheat carrier and cement carrier are due to arrive on Wednesday.
Departure remained NIL during last 24 hours. A total number of four vessels viz CV MSC Anafi, MV Orient-III, MV Vina Line Sky and MT Baltic are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Seven ships namely Christopigi Lady, Al-Soor-II, Serengeti, Alexi-I, Hiba Al Nour-B, Al-Farahidi and Maersk Kolkata carrying three diesel oil tankers, two cement carriers and two container ships respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of three vessels viz CV Maersk Kolkata, CV Al-Farahidi and MT Golden Ambrosia carrying containers and chemicals respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday. A container vessel viz CV CMA CGM Verdi is due to arrive on Wednesday, while five more container ships namely CV New Delhi Express, CV Nele Maersk, CV Maersk Davenport, CV MSC Sena and CV Ro Ro are due to arrive on Thursday at Port Qasim.
