Prime Minister Gilani was flanked by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain at the start of the APC proceedings.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the APC hall in the Prime Minister House, PML-N chief was received by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdaus Ashiq Awan, PPP's information secretary Qamar Zaman Kaira, PPP's MNA Raja Pervez Ashraf and Federal minister for Professional and Technical Training Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada of PML-Q.
Nawaz Sharif along with leader of the opposition in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan shook hands with chairman Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rashid Ahmed. The PML-N chief was later joined by Prime Minister Gilani. The two leaders seemed discussing some matters in a cordial mood prior to the start of the APC proceedings. Before joining the Prime Minister, Interior Minister Rehman Malik was trying to catch attention of the PML-N chief but with no success. PML-Q (Like-minded) president Salim Saifullah was seen with Nawaz Sharif for long.
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Syed Munawwar Hasan was seated next to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi. But the two did not bother to talk to each other. Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan participated in the APC along with party's leader Dr Shireen Mazari and the occasion provided them an opportunity to shake hands with the Prime Minister. Occasion provides good opportunity to leaders The occasion also provided a good opportunity to MQM's Haider Abbas Rizvi to hug President Sunni Tehreek Muhammad Ejaz Sarwat Qadri with a view to expressing affection.
