The Karachi Port handled 81,059 tonnes of cargo comprising 41,683 tonnes of import cargo and 39,376 tonnes of export cargo including 2,871 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 41,683 tonnes comprised of 11,946 tonnes of containerised cargo; 26,287 tonnes of coal and 3,450 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 39,376 tonnes comprised of 31,681 tonnes of containerised cargo; 238 tonnes of general cargo; 5,957 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,200 tonnes of talcum powder; 2,757 tonnes of cement and 1,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Six ships namely STX Patraikos, Pardis, Silver Zone, Sky Yukon, Nizar-M and Daewoo Diamond carrying three container ships, one bulk cargo ship, one wheat carrier and one oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz President Adams, Hyundai Confidence, Moor, Adullatif-S and Water Bridge carrying teo container ships, one oil tanker, one bulk cargo ship and one chemicals carrier respectively are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Moor, Cher, Venus Leader and Water Bridge carrying two oil tankers, one vehicles carrier and one chemicals carrier respectively expected to sail on Wednesday, while two ships namely Al-Ihsaa and Hyundai Confidence carrying two container ships respectively are expected to sail on Thursday.
Three vessels viz Lahore Express, Venus Leader, Aegean Fantasy and Chemroute Sky carrying one container ship, one vehicles carrier and one ethanol ship respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while seven vessels viz Uru Bhum, Emirates Marina, Sima Singapore, Ginga Marlin, Lodestar Genesis, Dlace and Dai Dunng Queen carrying three container ships, one ethanol ship, one chemicals carrier, one base oil tanker and one soyabean meal carrier respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 61,092 tonnes, comprising 45,635 tonnes of import cargo and 15,457 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,150 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 45,635 tonnes includes 22,428 tonnes of furnace oil; 8,000 tonnes of palm oil; 2,238 tonnes of seeds; 1,081 tonnes of phosphoric acid and 11,888 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 15,457 tonnes includes 2,235 tonnes of rice; 7,139 tonnes of cement and 6,082 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely CV CMA CGM Mozart, CV Hanjin Elizabeth and MT Argent Gerbera sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more ships namely MT Bum Young and MT Sea Sky are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels CV CMA CGM Mozart, CV Hanjin Elizabeth, MV Opal-II, MV Amira Dino, MV Silver Star, MV Lord Byron, MT Bum Young, MT Argent Gerbera and MT Sea Sky are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, sunflower seeds, palm oil, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely San Amerigo, Nysted Maersk, SC Shenzhen and Alaska-II with containers, palm oil and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two container vessels viz CV CMA CGM Wagner and CV San Amerigo are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Wednesday. As many as four container ships namely CV Henry, CV Elbe Trader, CV MSC Anafi and CV Mare Atlanticum are also due to arrive at Port Qasim.
