Cocoa arrivals at Brazilian warehouses in Brazil dipped in the last week with the upcoming main crop harvest yet to get under way, data from the Bahia Commercial Association showed on Wednesday. Deliveries from the main cocoa state Bahia and outlying states totalled 39,463 bags in the week to October 16.
Separately, total output from the now-finished May to September mid-crop was revised upward slightly to 1,692,554 bags (101,553 tonnes) after auditing and checks, the association said, up from an initial total of 1,680,592 bags. It said there was a "large discrepancy" between Brazil's cocoa output and the tonnes ground by local industry which it was trying to verify. The association said it believed the error lay with the grinding figures rather than with output.
