Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, has said the government was making all-out efforts for socio-economic uplift and for this purpose, all available resources were being utilised. He said this during a meeting with a delegation of Rotary Club Sukkur led by its President Dr Imtiaz Shaikh and General Secretary Sarwar Bhutti here on Saturday.
The Minister said the government was utilising all available resources to improve the lives of the common men adding that a large number of people getting benefit through BISP, who had suffered lot in the recent heavy rains and floods. He said President Asif Ali Zardari advised that distribution mechanism of the wheat seed be devised at the earliest and the seed be provided to the affected areas on priority so as to enable the farmers to sow wheat crop as soon as dewatering process is completed.
Syed Khursheed Shah further said the President and the Prime Minister had given mandate for improving social sector and in this connection the visits had been made to different countries to achieve the target. He further said Rotary Clubs developed confidence in public communication and opportunity adding that Rotarian were making one a better community citizen.
The average Rotary Club Sukkur consists of the most active citizens of any community. On the occasion, Dr Imtiaz Shaikh and Sarwar Bhutti informed the Minister that Club hosts of activities designed to assist family members in growth and the development of family values.
They said Rotarian continued growth and education in human relations including personnel development, adding that Rotary Club Sukkur arranged conferences, celebrated international and national days, conventions, assemblies as well as provides support to improve the academic standards through teachers training and by introducing new teaching methods.
