MEXICO CITY: Mexican Economy Minister Ildefonso Guajardo will meet US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer to discuss the modernization of NAFTA during a trip to Washington this week, Mexico's economy ministry said on Thursday.
Mexico, the United States and Canada are heading into a sixth round of talks to revamp the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in Montreal later this month, with doubts about the future of the pact mounting.
Guajardo, who is in Washington from Jan. 10-12, will also discuss the NAFTA talks with US legislators, the ministry said.
