Ten persons were injured in New Rampura on Thursday morning when an Impoverished Explosive Device (IED) exploded in a shop. According to Police the bomb was of three KG intensity and was packed in an oil canister that was placed outside the shop. Security in and around the city was made more effective after two mild intensity blasts injured about 15 persons on two consecutive days in provincial metropolises that also created dread among its residents.
AIG Bomb Disposal Squad Shafqat Malik said the explosion had been caused by an IED fitted with a timer however, the explosive used in it was of low quality thus luckily it could not cause huge damage. It carried up to three kilos of explosives, he said. AIG said there was similarity between the explosions took place on Wednesday as IEDs, which were prepared, locally used in both the blasts.
The injured were identified as Niamatullah S/0 Asmatullah, 36, Amjad Hussain S/O Faqir, 27, Amjad S/O Zafir Gull, 26, Asif S/0 Ishaq, 25, Ayub S/O Ahmed shah, 25, Iqbal S/O Yahya Gul, 40, Nasurullah S/O Fazal Muhammad, 25, Shamshad S/O Mohibullah, 45, Tariq khattak S/O Maqam Gul, 43, Tori Gul S/O Ghuncha Gul, 25, Wazir Muhammad S/O Niaz Muhammad, 25, Yahya S/O Abdul Salam, 17, Yar Muhammad S/O Mia Rasul, 25, Zarshaid S/O Sharuman, 29.
