Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), in line with its internal reward policy, has selected man of the month, and team of the month, for their safety performance during September. These awards are to reinforce a "safety first" culture across the organisation.
The uplift and cash award encourage all the workforce to follow complete health and safety rules during work to preempt any untoward incident and to support smooth functioning of the electricity supply network and operations. Muhammad Ramzan was declared man of the month, who always practices, and also leads his colleagues towards, safety rules and regulations. He identifies and normalizes hazards in his area and his safety attitude is reason for a positive change in the environment.
The team of the month comprising of S.M. Waseem, Mazhar Hussain and Mumtaz showed completely positive attitude towards doing their job safely, from attending neutral jumper complaint to working in a crises situation under great pressure. They always carried out complete PPEs and all safety precautions. Their commitment and dedication to Safety through work place hazard elimination is commendable.
In persuasion of its commitment towards health and safety, and in order to protect its most precious assets, the workforce, KESC strictly requires field employees working outdoors to reinforce safety by careful planning and toolbox talks, make sure that the safety gear is in a serviceable/usable condition, use PPE, keep a small towel or piece of cloth and to wipe the tools dry before use, to ensure proper line isolation from all sides before commencing work, to ensure proper shorting and grounding where applicable.-PR
